Dear Falcon Families,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I am looking forward to our third year together as we begin this new school year. I cannot wait to see all of our students and families again on our first day of school, August 12th, 2024. **Stay tuned for more information and details about my annual Popsicles with the Principal this year on Thursday, August 8th. ALL families must complete AIR (Annual Information Review) prior to August 8th in order to receive early notification of your child's classroom teacher. Keep an eye out for an email to complete this process.

Fern Drive has a wonderful reputation for being a warm and nurturing school community, and we will continue to build this culture of belonging, collaboration, inclusion, respect and academic success together. Building relationships and continuing to grow our school community as a family remains as one of my top priorities. One of my core beliefs is that our students learn and grow best when they know they have adults that believe in them, connect with them, and love and care for them. 

If you are new to Fern Drive, you will quickly see that all of our students will have daily opportunities to think critically, create, and explore their interests all while growing as kind, empathetic and productive 21st century citizens. Each Falcon student and family brings their own uniqueness to our school community, continuing to enrich the learning environment in which our Falcons will thrive. Our diverse population, and that our school feels like a family, is what makes our school so special and sought after by new families in Fullerton. We are proud of our students and families and our dedicated, veteran staff and know that each of these pillars make Fern Drive the special place that it is for students to learn and grow!

The 2024-25 school year brings me into my 17th year as an elementary school principal and 28th year in education. My husband, Matt, and I are parents to our daughter, Abbey, who will be a junior and our son, Matthew, who will be a freshman in high school this year. We can hardly believe our kids are already in high school! My husband is also an educator, a high school AP economics and history teacher, as well as being the head baseball coach at El Dorado HS. As a family we love to spend time on our boat at the river, playing or watching sporting events, reading and hanging out as a family with our dogs.
