Animal Research questions

  • Animal: ________________________________

    Animal Biome/Environment:

    1. Where does the animal live?
    2. Describe the habitat where the animal lives.
    3. What kinds of challenges does this habitat have? (What is it about this habitat that would make it difficult to survive in?)
    4. What type of shelter or home does the animal live in? How is it made? Where does the animal build or find its home?

    Animal Anatomy:

    1. What does the animal look like? Describe its physical characteristics.
    2. Include information about size, color, weight, face, feet, and all other important general body parts.
    3. Is there anything very special about the animal’s body? (You might be telling about this in the adaptations section - you do not need to repeat information in both spots!)

Animal Adaptations: (You might be telling about this in other sections - you do not need to repeat information in more than one spot!)

    Physical:

    1. What special physical characteristics make it possible for the animal to survive in its environment? HOW?

    2. If your animal (prey) is hunted by another animal (predator), does it have any strategies to keep from being eaten?     (For adaptations, think about: Protecting young, surviving in its habitat (hot/cold, dry/wet), mating (or finding mates), animals that hibernate, living in groups, looking like other animals, having poison...there are SO many adaptations that animals have...and yours may have many!)

    Animal Diet:

    1. What does the animal eat?
    2. Is the animal an herbivore (plants only), carnivore (meat only), or an omnivore (plants and meat).
    3. Where and how does the animal find its food?
    4. How does the animal eat?
    5. If your animal is a predator: what strategies does the animal use to catch its prey?
    6. If your animal is not a predator: what strategies does the animal use to find and collect its food?

    Animal Babies:

    1. Are babies born through live births or do they hatch from eggs?
    2. How many babies are born to the animal at a time? In the mother’s lifetime?
    3. What do the babies look like?
    4. How do the parents care for the young?
    5. How do the babies change as they grow?

    Endangered:

    1. Why is the animal endangered?
    2. What are the dangers it faces that is causing it to be in danger of extinction?

Animal iMovie Examples

  • Here are two animal iMovie examples to give you some ideas on how to make your movie. Remember to speak clearly, add "large" images, and add music only after you have put in all voice recordings, pictures, and transitions.
