Instead of daily assigned homework, please use your after-school time to practice math facts and reading skills daily! Feel free to choose something below for extra ideas or simply be creative!
- Practice skills on Front Row website
- Practice math facts with flash cards
- Read for 20 minutes daily
- Count to 120
- Skip count by 5s and 10s to 120
- Write numbers from 1-120 in order
- Practice writing-anything! Use complete sentences!
- Make up math problems for addition/subtraction and solve the answer
- Create word problems and figure out the answers (you can turn these in and we’ll solve them in class!!!)
- Read books by the same author and compare the books
- Write in a journal about your day or special event
- Write letters to your family
- Cook/Bake following a recipe
- Create a recipe and then make it for your family
- Go through newspapers and magazines and find sight words you recognize
- Play board games with your friends or family
- Find something to do that is NOT connected to technology
- Ideas are endless! Come up with your own too!
