ELAC Meeting Presentations -- Literacy Ideas at Home
-
Hello Parents! Here are some quick presentations you may find helpful. In the first one, I review the key components of literacy and how you can help your child with literacy at home. In the second one, I give some helpful hints for parents of early elementary English language learners. In the third one, my goal is to empower parents of English language learners with a strategy, activity, and suggestions for creating a lifestyle of literacy growth and development. Enjoy!

Newsletters on Literacy
-
Dear Parents,
As you work with your children at home, my goal is to demystify the foundational skills of literacy in efforts to better equip you in supporting your students' growth as readers. My hope is that parents of students from any grade, kindergarten to eighth grade, will be able to gain new understanding from these newsletters and feel empowered to effectively assist their students at home.
Here is the first one on fluency -- what it is, what it is not, and what it might look like at different grade levels. More will come on fluency in a later newsletter, such as practical ways to help students achieve better fluency.
If there is a literacy component you are hoping to read about, please email me any suggestions.
Happy reading!
