Everyone deserves the opportunity to learn and work in a clean and safe environment. Please take the time to read the information on this page carefully and review this page monthly. When you finish reading this page you should understand Mrs. Hernandez’s policies and expectations on:

PBIS:
- We are a PBIS School
- Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
- Our three pillars are: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Purposeful
- We strive to focus on good behavior
- Panther Pride Cards given to reward positive behavior
Entering the Classroom:
- Do not enter without an adult present
- Walk
- Enter quietly
- Be in your seat when the bell rings
- Get your supplies ready (folder, homework, pencil, eraser, etc.)
- Listen for further directions
At All Times:
- Be respectful
- Stay on task
- Do your own work
- Allow others to concentrate on their work
- Listen carefully to the directions
- Listen when others are speaking
- Encourage Others
- Keep hands and feet to yourself
- Don’t interrupt (unless it is an emergency)
- Keep area clean
- Keep all 4 legs of the chair on the floor
At the End of the Period:
- Stay in your seat until dismissed by the teacher
- Push in your chair
- Take all of your belongings with you
- Throw away all trash in the trashcan (even it isn’t yours)
Discipline Procedures:
- Student will be given a verbal warning
- If the negative behavior continues, student will meet with the teacher outside of class to discuss their behavior
- If the negative behavior still continues, student will be assigned a detention and the parent will be notified
- All warnings, meetings, detentions, parent notifications, etc. will be documented
- If the negative behavior still continues, student will be referred to the office
Important: Students will not be given a verbal warning for some behaviors that go against the school rules. These behaviors include cell phones, dress code, academic dishonesty, gum chewing, tardies, etc.
