Cybersecurity I Course Units Overview
Google+ Unit: Tools for Success in School
This unit introduces essential Google tools students need to thrive in school. Through hands-on projects, students will:
- Create virtual rooms using Google Slides to enhance their presentation skills.
- Design interactive virtual escape rooms using Google Forms.
- Build their own websites with Google Sites.
- Learn how to optimize Google Search for research and discovery.
- Organize their Google Drive using subject-based, color-coded folders and subfolders to stay efficient and organized.
Cybersecurity Unit: Staying Safe in a Digital World
Students will gain critical skills in digital citizenship and online safety using the curricula from codehs.com, cyber.org, and code.org. This unit includes:
- Recognizing cyber threats such as malware and understanding how to protect themselves.
- Learning how to stay safe while navigating the online world.
- Acquiring fundamental knowledge of how computers work, how the internet is structured, and the basics of cloud computing.
Programming Unit: Introduction to Coding with AI
Using the Coding with AI curriculum by UCI for K–8 students, this unit helps students develop creative problem-solving skills through programming. Students will:
- Learn the fundamentals of block coding based on MIT Scratch, a visual programming language.
- Engage in hands-on activities that encourage critical thinking and creativity in a fun and interactive environment.
Cybersecurity II
Prerequisite: Cybersecurity I
In this course, students will build on the foundational knowledge gained in Cybersecurity I. They will continue developing their cybersecurity skills and deepen their understanding of coding and digital security concepts.

For those assignments that require making videos, you can watch them to get extra help.
How to create videos using iMovie
How to Screen Record using an iPad and Share your Video
Step 1: Open your document or presentation to be submitted.
Step 2: Turn on Screen Record (make sure the mic is on)
Step 3: Show/demonstrate the problem - explain.
Step 4: Stop Recording
Step 5: Find the video file in photos and upload it to Google Drive. This takes some time.
Step 6: From GOOGLE DRIVE share the VIDEO by allowing access, then upload a LINK TO GOOGLE CLASSROOM. (Google Drive takes some time to convert the uploaded file.)
