Mrs. Yolla

Welcome to 5th Grade!  My name is Gabrielle Yolla and I am so excited about getting to know everyone in Room 21 this year.  But first, let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I was born in Long Beach, CA.  I grew up with a single mom and no brothers or sisters.  I learned to speak Spanish at home and did not know any English when I started kindergarten.  My mom made sure that I took my education very seriously and I worked hard to get good grades all the way through high school.  My grades were good enough to get me accepted into my top choice university, but we did not have enough money to pay for my tuition.  That is when I decided to join the Army to help pay for college. 

I was stationed at Fort Monroe, Virginia and then in Yongsan, South Korea.  In Korea, I met Mr. Yolla.  While Mr. Yolla was stationed overseas, I came back home to CA and was finally able to finish my degrees to become a teacher.

I began teaching in 2005 right here at Richman.  This will be my 17th year working at Richman Elementary and my 8th year teaching 5th grade.

I now live in Anaheim with my husband James, my 13 year old son Cruz, my 10 year old son Jesse, and my 8 year old daughter Elyse.  We also have a dog and two guinea pigs.
