Welcome to Mr. Clemente's Class in Room 208!
Greetings Parks Panthers! I am thrilled to be your teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. I am Mr. Clemente and have been serving, educating, and inspiring junior high students in Fullerton for 25 years. This 2021-2022 school year, I teach 8th Grade Language Arts, Journalism, & Publication (Sports Journalism). My goal is to create an engaging learning environment so students maximize their foundational knowledge and communication skills in their field of study. In all three classes, communicating at at a proficient to expert level, in both writing and speaking, is a goal we work on the entire year.
A proud Anteater, I earned my bachelors degree in English Literature from the University of the Irvine California; I earned my masters degree in Composition and Rhetoric from Cal Poly Pomona.
I have two sons that attend the Fullerton schools. My son Roman is 14 and attends Sunny Hills High School. He was born on Halloween, loves football, and loves all things meant to "jump scare you!" My son Joel is 13 and loves contact sports, especially football and boxing. Joel is in 8th grade and attends Parks Junior High School.
My wife Robyn Clemente also teaches in the Fullerton School District. We discuss teacher pedagogy often. I bet you guessed that.
Along with a love of reading and writing, I enjoy the outdoors: fishing, hiking, and more fishing. I am a science-fiction, action, thriller, and fantasy movie fan first, then horror, comedy, drama, and mystery next. I am a huge fan of sports. I am a martial arts fanatic. I love all of them. For a weekend spectator sport, I like watching college football the most. More than likely, I'll be doing that in the spring.
Thanks for being part of the team, and I anticipate an awesome year!
