Classroom Rules and Acceptable Use of Technology

    Dear Fullerton School District Parents:
    Please discuss all of the information below with your students at your earliest opportunity.

    All normal classroom rules, norms, technology rules and acceptable use policies are enforced during distance learning. Many teachers are currently utilizing Google Meet and Zoom for video conferencing, and may be using other technology products like Google Classroom, The Google Suite, Class Dojo, Remind, BlackBoard Messenger, Discovery Education, and many others that the district or the site has established are acceptable for education or communication.

    Students MAY NOT change their profile pictures to anything other than: 
    1. Their own school-appropriate picture 
    2. A school-appropriate clip art or drawing
    3. The letter of their First Name 
    Students MAY NOT change their username in any program used for educational purposes or change the name of their assigned devices. Students using non-district devices may not change their usernames in any educational program.
     
    Students who have been issued a district device MAY ONLY use that device for educational purposes. All district provided programs and resources may only be used for educational purposes even on other devices and other networks.
     
    District issued devices are only for use by the student to whom it was issued, by the student’s parent(s) for school and district related tasks such as accessing the PowerSchool Parent Portal, school and district websites and calendars, etc, and younger FSD siblings who have not been assigned a district device (under parental supervision).
     
    Student devices are tracked in our online system and students who violate classroom rules or behavior rules will be subject to appropriate discipline.
     
    We are working hard to protect your students in every online environment. We ask our parents to monitor your students to prevent inappropriate behaviors online and to work with administration if any inappropriate behaviors are traced back to your students.
