    GATE Mission Statement

    The Fullerton School District is committed to supporting gifted students from all racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.  We believe that our diverse population of gifted students develop to their full potential when their special strengths, interests, and abilities are identified and supported throughout their lives.  We are dedicated to providing unique, differentiated, in-depth, complex, and accelerated opportunities to develop the gifts and talents in our GATE students.

      GATE Testing Information

      • GATE Testing for the 2024-25 school year has concluded.  Please continue reading for information about GATE testing for the 2025-26 school year.
         
        Grade 2 GATE Screening (September - December 2025)
         
        The Fullerton School District screens all FSD students in Grade 2 for gifted services. Parents have the opportunity to "Opt Out" of testing by signing the Opt Out Form sent home with your child in September. No preparation is needed or encouraged.  Screening will take place in the child's second grade classroom. Parents will be notified of screening results by mail.  Final GATE Qualification letters will be mailed to home addresses in January 2026.

        Grade 3-7 GATE Screening (September - December 2025)

        FSD Parents may request GATE screening annually during Fall Parent Teacher Conferences. Students may be tested a total of three (3) times in the Fullerton School District. A request for GATE screening does not guarantee the student will be tested for GATE. Parents must submit the request for screening digital form by September 26, 2025 at 4:00PM. Final GATE Qualification letters will be mailed to home addresses in January 2026.

        GATE SCREENING GRADES 3 - 7

        If you are interested in your child being screened for Gifted and Talented Education Services, please complete the digital form which will be available here beginning in August 2025.
