FSD Job Fair - What to Expect
Thank you for your interest in attending FSD’s Instructional Assistant Job Fair! Our staff is working hard to guarantee not only the success of the event, but also a pleasant experience for all attendees.
Check-In: There will be a check-in table set up at the entrance. We invite you to visit one of our many display tables and review information on our current job openings after arriving at our check-in table.
Application: At the check-in table, our staff will hand you an application. If you would like to expedite this process, please fill out your application online at edjoin.org/fullertonsd before the event. Once completed, bring your application back to the check-in table and one of our team members will direct you to our testing room.
Testing: Depending on your job interests, the exam process can take between two to four (2-4) hours, so please plan your time accordingly. If you are unable to stay for testing, please let one of our representatives know, so that we can schedule a testing session at a later date.
-
Proficiency Exam: The written proficiency test is required of all applicants interested in applying for our Instructional Assistant positions. The test consists of high-school level reading, grammar, and math. Testers will have one (1) hour and twenty (20) minutes to complete this exam.
-
Secondary Written Exam: Some positions require a secondary written exam (IA/SE II), and will be offered to applicants who are successful in passing the proficiency test. This second exam consists of scenario-based questions, as well as reading comprehension. Testers will have up to forty-five (45) minutes to complete the secondary exam.
Recorded Interview: Applicants who receive a passing score on the proficiency written test will be invited to a recorded interview. Applicants will be placed in front of a recording device and given a set of interview questions to answer. These recordings will be shared with hiring managers at a later date to review and make job offers to successful candidates.
In-Person Interview: We will have a number of hiring managers available to interview for open positions in their respective programs. Applicants who are successful in passing the written test and are interested in working in those programs will be invited to participate in the in-person interviews for the following positions:
-
Instructional Assistant/General Education (classroom aides)
-
Instructional Assistant/Expanded Learning (after-school program aides)
