Famous Person Sketch

Due Date: Friday, March 11th
Directions: 
Step 1: Select the famous person you will be sketching. 

Step 2: Take a screen shot of the black and white photo.

Step 3: Notice the dark and light values in the photo.

Step 4: Upload the photo to notability.

Step 5: Create a grid pattern on the black and white photo to help with proportion. 

IMPORTANT: The grid on the photo must match the grid on your drawing paper. For example if your photo is 4X6, then your drawing paper will be 4X6.  If you grid in 4X4, then you will cut off the drawing paper to match.

Step 6: With a pencil, begin sketching your squares.  You may draw one box at a time or outline the entire image and then fill in with shading. Watch this video if you need inspiration.

Step 7: Continue adding VALUE with a pencil, to make your image look realistic.

Step 9: If your photo is a square, cut your white paper to a square.

Step 10: Take a picture of your famous person sketch and submit to the Google Classroom assignment. 

Step 11: Fill out the Art reflection form
