Computer science is an important field that all students will need to be introduced to. Robot Nation is a program that has allowed teachers and students to get introduced to computer science. With the start of this program, there has been a high level of interest and numerous other computer science programs have been developed from this program. All schools in the district have participated and this program has become an expectation from schools and the community.

The most innovative feature of this program is that it is teacher led and has been able to adapt year to year. Starting as a competition, the committee of teachers and members have continued to develop new ways for robotics to be experienced. Now a festival like atmosphere has been created and many students are able to compete and celebrate success from the learning they have done over the course of the year. Unlike other programs, this program offers a way to celebrate success for students in an atmosphere that is sports like. Like sports, this program has made a big deal in how it showcases the culminating event. It creates a buzz and anticipation unlike many other programs in education.
