SUN Bucks Reminder

Have you heard about California's newly launched SUN Bucks summer program? This new federal food program provides low-income families with $120 per child, equivalent to $40 per month for three months during the summer, to support nutrition costs for children while schools are closed for summer break.

Most eligible families do not need to take any action, as children who qualify for free or reduced-price school meals through a school meal application or an alternative income form, or who receive CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal, are automatically enrolled.

SUN Bucks cards started to arrive in the mail for qualifying families in June and will continue to be delivered through the fall, so be sure to keep a lookout and don't throw the info away.

Children who are not automatically enrolled for SUN Bucks can apply for free or reduced-price school meals by completing and submitting a school meal application or alternative income form by August 31, 2024.
