Instrumental Music
-
Countless studies show the benefits of including the arts and music in early education as well as clearly illustrating the numerous links between musical training and math proficiency. There are additional studies showing higher college acceptance and lower dropout rates for musicians who have participated in school instrumental groups. Many students who struggle academically and socially find success and experience growth as well as increased self-esteem as a result of participating in the Elementary Instrumental Music Program.
Instrumental music students are taught by fully credentialed music teachers who are qualified to teach any of the instruments, including the flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, or percussion. Students may choose to furnish their own instrument or they may opt to borrow on of the new district-owned instruments. With so many choices, there is an instrument right for every student and a highly qualified teacher waiting to guide them down the path to becoming a musician!
