Early Childhood Special Education
-
Our Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) programs specialize in educational services and support systems designed to meet the unique needs of young children with disabilities or developmental delays in preschool from age three to age five. Our ECSE programs focus on providing early support and assistance in order to ensure young children with special needs who reside in Fullerton have the best possible start to their educational journey.
To receive early childhood special education (ECSE) services, your child needs to be identified as having a disability or a significant developmental delay that may impact their ability to learn and function effectively.

Students in our Preschool For All programs are enrolled in special-day preschool classrooms designed for students with varying special needs or disabilities. In these classrooms, students get specialized help and support from special education teachers and related service providers. In addition, a special-day classroom offers more predictability, specialized teaching methods, and smaller class sizes, which can be essential for a student's progress and well-being.
The goal of PFA is to provide individualized appropriate support to prepare our young learners for school where they can grow at their own pace.

Collaborative Classroom Teaching (Co-Teach)
To enroll your preschool student with special needs in our co-teach preschool programs, they must go through the IEP process to establish their eligibility with recommended services and support.
The preschool co-teaching classroom is a type of inclusion model provided within a shared classroom. The general education preschool teacher and an education specialist share the classroom and teaching responsibilities. Teachers support the needs of all students and work collaboratively to provide specialized support for students on IEPs.
Preschool students on IEPs who are recommended for the co-teach classroom, are dually enrolled with the school site and the preschool department.
If the IEP team determines and agrees that the\co-teaching environment is appropriate to support your child, click on the link below to make an appointment with our general education preschool department to begin enrollment.
