All benefit eligible employees are enrolled in the Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance Program administered through VOYA/ReliaStar. The District provides both a Basic Life and AD&D benefit for all eligible employees in the amount of $100,000. In addition, the District also provides a $1,500 benefit for an employee’s spouse/registered domestic partner, and up to $1,500 for each child between 6 months and 26 years ($500 for children under 6 months).
Employees must complete the Basic Life Enrollment Form at the time of hire or benefit eligibility.
For employees who would like to purchase additional Life insurance, the District provides you the opportunity to do so through VOYA/ReliaStar. If you are a newly eligible employee, you can elect coverage up to the guaranteed issue amount of $100,000 for employee, $50,000 for spouse, or $10,000 for children with no medical underwriting within 31 days of hire for you and/or your spouse/registered domestic partner.
